About this car

Beautiful first series black Mercedes 190 SL with perfect contrasting red bordeaux leather interior and as new black soft top. Powered by the correct  straight 4 cylinder single overhead camshaft engine with 1897 cc (Type M121BII) with double Weber 40 DCOE carburetor set up producing 105 hp attached to a smooth and faultless 4 speed manual gearbox.

This particular 2 door roadster was built the 7th June 1956, delivered and shipped to the Mercedes Benz Distributor in Los Angeles, California USA. The 190 SL was and is still very attractive as the more affordable alternative to the exclusive 300 SL, sharing its basic styling, engineering detailing and built quality. It was built on the shortened monocoque R121 platform modified form the W121 small saloon. Inside the driver is greeted by crisp, clear gauges and Mercedes Benz characteristic ivory steering wheel and shifter. It was designed more as a tourer then a sports car, though it looks very sporting.

This 190 SL is an older restoration but still in a very good overall condition and in one of the most handsome color combinations. It comes with the copy of the original data card from the Mercedes Classic Center, which verifies the cars numbers on chassis and engine. (matching)

This roadster is looking for a new owner and is ready to participate in all events, rally's and shows.
